Common questions about bottle styles

Are Boston Round and Apothecary bottles the same?

They are related round-profile styles, but the names are not universally interchangeable. Apothecary designs can have different shoulder shapes and tall or squat proportions. Compare the actual drawing and dimensions.

What is the difference between oval and oblong?

An oval footprint is generally elliptical. An oblong footprint generally has a more elongated, panel-like outline with rounded transitions. Supplier terminology varies, so a base view is the best way to confirm the difference.

Is a trigger sprayer a bottle shape?

The trigger sprayer is a dispensing component. “Trigger-spray bottle” is a useful functional category for compatible bottle bodies, which can have several different shapes and footprints.

Why are jars, canisters and tubes included?

These related formats may be suitable alternatives when your product needs a wider opening, scoop access or squeeze dispensing. They are included for comparison and are not all bottle types.

Can I choose a bottle based on its market category?

Market examples help narrow the search, but they do not confirm suitability. Material, closure, formula compatibility, filling conditions and required performance must be evaluated for the specific product.
